Welcome to Reception! Our class teachers are Mrs Leaney (Monday and Tuesday) and Miss Clement (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). We are supported in class by Mrs Capstack and Miss Cain, our Teaching Assistants. This half-term our topic is 'On the Farm'. This half term we will be swimming on Tuesday afternoons. Please make sure your child has their swimming kit in school in a large shopping bag, big enough to fit their uniform, shoes and coat into. Remember earrings must be removed for our swimming lessons.
We also have our weekly Forest School sessions on Thursdays. Please ensure your child has their Forest School kit and wellies in school for these sessions.
This term we will be working really hard to learn our first set of Phonics sounds. We use the 'Monster Phonics' programme to help the children to learn the different sounds and then blend these together to read. You can find out more about the Monster Phonics programme here
