At Woodstone, we aim to instil a passion for PE and sports to ensure that every child has the opportunity to be the best they can be in PE lessons, sports competitions and festivals, active playtimes and across the whole curriculum. Through physical education and sport, we aim to teach our pupils new skills and values and show them how to improve in a safe, fun and stimulating environment. By providing a wide variety of sporting opportunities both in school and off site, our pupils will become healthy and active young people ready for the next stage of their lives. We strive to give children the opportunity to compete internally (intra-school), and with other schools (inter-school) to instil values of teamwork, determination, respect, encouragement, passion and communication.
Miss Susie Williams
P.E. Subject Lead
I'm passionate about PE and sport and love teaching the subject and leading clubs. Taking the children to a wide variety of competitions and festivals is always a highlight too.
What's new in P.E.?
We've written a new whole-school long term plan.
We're introducing simple fitness tests at the beginning of each term to help monitor and develop the ability of all children in a fun yet competitive environment.
