Welcome to Acorn Class! Our class teachers are Mrs Leaney (Monday and Tuesday) and Miss Clement (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). We are supported in class by Mrs Capstack and Mrs Sainsbury, our Teaching Assistants. This half-term our topic is 'All About Me'. Please have a look at our 'Class News' page to see some of the things we have been up to.
This half term our P.E. lessons will be on Monday afternoons although please make sure your child has their P.E. kit in school all week in case of timetable changes. This should include shorts, t-shirt, pumps, joggers, a jumper and trainers. Remember earrings must be removed for our P.E. lessons.
We also have our weekly Forest School sessions on Thursdays. Please ensure your child has their Forest School kit and wellies in school for these sessions.

This term we will be working really hard to learn our first set of Phonics sounds. We use the 'Monster Phonics' programme to help the children to learn the different sounds and then blend these together to read. You can find out more about the Monster Phonics programme here
Each sound has an associated action which helps the children to remember the different sounds. You can find a video showing you these actions here
For support with how to pronounce each Phonic sound correctly please see the video below
