Home Learning

Hello Home Learners!

Here you will find the resources you need to complete the work we are doing in class. Please email your work to year6@woodstone.leics.sch.uk so that I can give you feedback and Dojo's.

There is no need to print anything! Please write down the date and Learning Intention at the top of each piece of work and use the PowerPoints as you would in class.

Try where you can to stick to a normal school routine. Staying in a routine will really help you when you return to school.

  • To find out dates and events from non-fiction resources.
  • To create a timeline of football tournament history.
National Curriculum:
  • English: Retrieve and record information from non-fiction.
  • History: Continue to develop a chronologically secure knowledge and understanding of British, local and world history, establishing clear narratives within and across the periods they study; Children should construct informed responses that involve thoughtful selection and organisation of relevant historical information

How far back do you think the World Cup goes? Can you name any other football tournaments? How long have they been going?  You are going to find out how long these tournaments have been going and create a timeline of the history of football tournaments.

Using the resources try to get the dates into chronological order. Move on and  create your own timelines.

Finally  ask an older member of your family if they remember watching any of the football tournaments you have learned about today and how long ago it was. You hould ask what they remember about the tournament, who won and who were the famous players.

If your relative can't remember, you can give your relative the dates of the first tournaments instead. Are their relatives surprised at how long ago they were?
